First lady Melania Trump smiled as she took in a concert with French First Lady Brigitte Macron after her husband blew up at a breakfast meeting over Germany at the start of the NATO summit.

She flashed a broad grin as she was seated next to Macron while her husband met with other world leaders after the tirade – including German chancellor Angela Merkel, who has been the subject of his attacks on defense funding.

The former model also was to attend a chocolate tasting and fashion show as they soaked in local culture in a display of unity and common bonds that have held the military alliance together for decades.

Stun in a navy flared midi dress like Melania

Melania Trump arrived in Waterloo, Belgium, clicking off all the sartorial boxes. As we've learned, nothing the First Lady does when it comes to fashion is accidental. For this appearance, Melania saluted both the American designer Calvin Klein 205W39NYC and its Belgian designer Raf Simons.

Specifically, Melania chose a round-neck, sleeveless navy mid-length flare dress that has echoes of 1950s silhouettes. The allure of this particular dress is its fitted bodice and the white, black and green striped axe-shaped panel that was a key theme of the Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Simons collaborated with German-American artist Sterling Ruby for the Americana detail. Melania added white pointy-toed stiletto pumps to complete the look.

If you're in love with elegance of this dress like we are, click right to buy it it MatchesFashion. Best of all, it's on sale for $1750.

If that's stretching your budget, see our roundup below. We found a bargain lookalike at Banana Republic.

Trump was seated up front between Macron and Amelie Derbaudreghien.

The spouses first heard three pieces of classical music (one a Tchaikovsky) from two young women who train at the school, a pianist, the other a violinist. Details on names and exact music to come.
