An Egyptian football club has terminated the contract of 21-year-old Cameroonian football player Samuel Nlend, after he tested positive for HIV AIDS.

This unfortunate event took place only four days after he had signed the contract with Egyptian Premier League club Al Ittihad on the 24th of August 2016.

Egyptian news outlet KingFut.com reported that a media representative of the club confirmed the sad news to the press.

The young forward is said to have been one of the brightest young players in Cameroon and even scored in January’s African Cup of Nations competition before securing a summer move to Al Ittihad.

He also finished the last Cameroonian soccer league as the top scorer with his former club, Union Douala.

There are no rules against playing football with the condition but it’s unlikely Nlend would be able to get a work permit in another country.
